I totally agree with everyone who has posted on the first page! My sister does NH,but she get's realy snotty about it.I think it varrie's from horse to horse, but for me personally,i know my horse and i know how to work with my horse, and i don't need some stranger telling me otherwise. It's not that i disagree with NH and hate it,i hate the people who are teaching it,the people who think they are better than other's because they "know the true way" of training,or has ridden bareback with no bridle down the road. That's cool and all,but does that make you god? No.There's this one coach,my sister's coach (i won't name name's),and everyone talks about her like's she's a god or something, like "she can fix ANY horse".That just really bug's me that people can be so cocky to say that there isn't ONE horse she can't train.Pfffft,bullsh*t.

I didn't realize that when I started reading this it has been going on since July. Just to put my two cents in here. I have an ex-race horse. Had problems bringing him in the areana to teach his barrels. Tried different NH ways, yo-yo games ect... But it all went down to, race horse, lead all around, never alone but on the track......hmmmmmm, so I have another person walk with me in the arena. WOW Problem solved. Now there has been days when he will walk right in and others "no way". I like NH to a point, don't like it shoved down my throat. The people who do it, do it 24/7. Other people like me, have a family, a job (or more), a home life and then horse life. It does work on some and other not at all. I will still never trust a horse 100%, no matter how much training they have had. I am thankful mine are good animals. It goes to love, trust and understanding the horse and their power. I will take the good.

I toot my own horn and claim that I can handle and find success in training with many horses.

But I'll still never let myself forget the almighty Black Tenessee Walker Percheron Named Ebony.

Every trainer, every rider, heck any person who does anything with horses will encounter horses that they can't do anything with. Sometimes there's a reason that can change, sometimes there's unchangeable reasons, and sometimes there's no reasons at all. That's just how it goes.

My mom and I work as a team. Sometimes one of us will just get along better with a horse, or hit a road block, so we'll switch horses for a while. My sister had trouble with getting her horse to frame up and flex at the poll, so I rode him for a couple of days in a snaffle and draw reins. I had the patience to wait for him to clue in. Then she was able to take him and feel more confident when he already understood what she was asking him.

That's just how it goes. Horses aren't robots.

How can you ride in order to make your horse's job easier for them?

LOL, kinda like beating a dead horse, it just never completely dies, LOL. Each time a new "NH" thread comes up, it struggles to it's feet again, LOL!
