And yes, red roans are a sorrel + roan...so they have a sorrel mane/tail/legs/head. Bay roan is a bay + roan...so they have black mane/tail/legs. And the brown/bay head.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Contact AQHA...they will more than likely have you send photos of her. And, if you really want to back that up, you could coat color test her and send them the results from the test(s). ETA: What color are her sire and dam? If at least one of them is black based, that will also help 'your case'...as it is genetically possible for her to be black based. But, i would think/hope they (AQHA) would know their colors enough that if you send them pictures they'll change it on her reg. certificate.

| Senior Member | Strawberry roans have sorrel manes and tails. Bay roan and red roan is used interchangeably in casual conversation. That is as far as I know- I am not really acquainted with color technicalities.

| Senior Member+ | LOL, and not a speck of white on her to help you "match" her to her papers, LOL. Don't fret Jess. WAY too many breeders don't know nearly as much as they want to think about color genetic and what you can and can't get with certian colored parents. Just call AQHA and they will walk you through what you need to do. They're really nice folks. |

| Senior Member+ | def not red, i would just contact AQHA and if for whatever reason they need some help recognizing their colors, then they will require a test and then you're done |
