School is torture. I have one friend, and I am a "middle-class", if you could call it that, girl in a school full of snobs. It's a Catholic private school, so you'd think everyone would be nice, right? Christian?
Um, no. People use God's name in vain every other sentence and sing church songs in loud, annoying voices just to make fun of them.
The biggest worry of most of the kids in the junior high is that they might not be able to go to the football game on Friday. Or that someone they like is mad at them. They've never known pain, or real rejection, or anything.
But what I'm most upset at is this kid Philip. Every time he sees me he makes some mean comment. His latest thing is patting me on the head, waiting for me to tell him to stop, and then laughing hysterically about it. Anytime anything happens he says something to me about it, making fun of me. I'm ready to slap him in the face. I can't take this anymore. I have considered (not seriously, I suppose) hurting myself, because he upsets me to the point where I want to cry. And of course he doesn't care. I doubt if anyone would even notice if I got killed in a car accident or something. And if they did notice, they wouldn't care. Because, "Oh, it's just Leanne." But if any of THEM got so much as a sprained wrist, everyone would be sending cards and telling them how sorry they were.
I don't know what to do. I have a whole year left of this, and then who knows if high school will be any better? I'm a shy person. Who knows if I'll make any friends?
I don't know why I'm even writing this, it's not to get attention. I guess I just want to vent a little. But I can't stand it anymore.

I spent two years (year 11 and 12) in a 'Christian' school and they were more vindictive, nasty and catty than any of the students I had to deal with in the public system. It really did come down to the "holier than thou" attitude. It made me sick. Because I came from a public school into their 'harem' so to speak I was ostrasiced from day one. Its never fun (this was 10/11 years ago). Hang in there, if you're ever stuck pm me and I'll be more than happy to listen.

Thanks guys...in a situation like this, Internet friends won't help much at school, but I'm glad to know you're there.
and madvoice--it's b/c they come from rich families. No one cares who's holy or not, but friendship is based on:
1. Money
2. Clothes
3. Looks
4. Your figure

And nothing else matters.

Be yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself, you sound like a very nice person.
I'm a lot older, but I envy you having to be in a teenage world these days. It must be hard. I think that is Philip's way of just saying "I like you". If he really hated you, he'd not even pay you a minute's notice.
Start saying Hi to him or when he does things, just laugh at him. Or, you could learn self-defense and rough him up a bit (only joking).
I hope things get better.
I was a "poor" girl in a catholic school; I know what you are going through. If you make one good friend, then that is the one who is worth keeping.

Sorry Cierra, I have to disagree. He does it for attention, because he knows anyone else in the class will back him up and laugh.

Im sorry.Im in the same stuation.Cathlic school, not many friends, lots of ****** people. Trust me DONT hurt yourself. Once you start you cant stop. I know im there right now. I only have two years,two weeks and a day left untill i leave and im counting down the days. if you need to vent or talk anymore just pm i wont mind and i like having people to talk to.

I just dread going into Science class every day and having to sit RIGHT NEXT TO HIM. I honestly just feel like slapping him sometime. But if I don't do it hard enough, he'll just laugh more...
His mom is really nice, I don't know where he gets it from. His dad died of cancer, and I feel really bad about that, but I just don't understand how he can be so relentless and heartless.

Well, this is where you have to think ahead of him; smile at him and say "what time is it that you're going to pick me up for the movies again?" Something that will make the kids laugh at him. And, shrug it off and laugh.
Who cares what they think?
He might just stop teasing you.
