Ican'tbelievethisishappening. I'll start from the beginning

Wednesday-
I hit my head really hard with my cousins by accident, immediatley felt nautious and in pain (my left eye AREA). At 2 (15 minutes after the accident) i threw up. At 3, then again at 4. We finally got a hold of my Aunts husband, who is a paramedic. He said if it was him, he would take me to the hospital immediatley. Before we left, i said i had to use the restroom. I did my buisness and immediatley turned around and through up. I was sitting on the floor as my mom started the car and cooled it down. my aunt came in and said bri, look at me. My right eye went up, and my left eye stayed there. I was in immense pain, and light sensitive. They freaked out and took to to a hospital close by. I go into the waiting room for the ER and there are just TONS of people! I immediatley AGAIN thrown up in the recycle bin, and my mom yells out that we have a head injury. I was put on a wheelchair and rolled in. 4 hours later, i went home with 2 vicadien (sp?) and 2 nausea pills. They did a CT scan to make sure i didn't have any bleeding in the brain. My mom kept telling them about my eyes and they just kept dismissing it. My mom asked them if they did the CT scan down that far (the bottom of my eye socket basically, right at the beginning of the cheek bones) and they said no, only if there was an obvious fracture or displacement. I had a cut there...i don't know how it got there. They sent us home with the conclusion i had a concausion (sp?)

Thursday-
In my room totally dark, not eating anything. Mom is trying to get a hold of my normal doctor, nada.
Around 6, she finally gets a hold of her. The the doctor says i need to see an optimolgist....my dads cousin is one so we call him. He gives us the name of another one, which, i'm assuming is better or somehing. I have an appt with this guy at friday around 1.

Friday-
They manage to get me into the car, i don't know/care what i looked like. I didn't eat anything either and had no apetite. We split the vicadine in halfs and i took the last of it that morning. Get in the car with a hat and dark dark glasses on. He examines me for about 30 seconds, makes me move my eyes and such, do an eye chart. Declares i have a blowout fracture of the left orbit. Meaning, i need surgery ASAP! Keep in mind i'm comatose and all i can do is sit there with the lights turned off and silently cry from all the pain i was in. He got in touch with my normal doctor, they said i needed a plastic surgeon. They wanted stanford to do it, but since it was friday, no doctors wanted to take on anyone over the weekend. They told my mom to take me to stanford ER cause then they have to deal with it. After some morhpine i was feeling a little better, making jokes with my mom and aunt and a nurse during the CT scan about the possibility of me being pregnant. was my reply. with my eyes closed LOL. So after about 10 nurses and doctors making me move my eyes and me in tears, i got surgery. They said they expected me to heal fully and that it should only take an ahour. It was 7:30 when i went in. At 9:30 the doctor talked to my mom. I guess my bottom eye muscle was pinched in the fracture, and had lost all of its blood supply and was much more damaged than they thought. That means that my upper eye muscle was stronger, and would be pulling my eye upward, so i'd have double vison. They hoped i would recover fully and if not in 6 months, i would get ANOTHER surgery to weaken the upper eye muscle.



Not a good way to start the summer. NO activities like running, riding or anything for 6 weeks. I had classic i was looking forward to and soooo much more. Now its gone......

I'm writing this with one eye, so sorry for grammar errors. as of right now, the swelling isn't as bad as saturday but still double when i open my eye as much as it can.
I have an appt tomorrow and will update more.
This is my 2nd surgery with stanford and they are AWESOME.
Im just so bummed about this.

Sorry they aren't that great. The first one, i took when i got home, on my phone. My phone won't let me send it to my comp., so i had to take a picture off my camera OF my phone. LOL. The second one is today, much better.

Thanks guys. I went to the doctor today, still double. I'm gonna see him next thursday. He said he doesen't think he is going to see any improvment for another week or 2. If after 3-4 weeks, no improvment, we will do another CT scan to make sure everything is still okay. I'm praying that it will get better, so i don't have to get ANOTHER surgery!
