Exclamation I bit off more than I could chew...

I went up to the barn last night around 7:30 to clip Ollie and I didn't even finish his neck! I don't know if I just suck at clipping or if this is how long it really takes but I have a show on Sunday and I have no clue how I can finish him! I'm panicing right now and have no clue what I'm going to do! I didn't think it was going to take this long to body clip him. I should of done a trace clip.... Anyone have any ideas on what I can do??

Well its just one of thoes things.......... The first snip is easy, and then you just have to make yourself do the rest!!!! I feel sorry for you, I try and get someone to help. Or invent a crazy new clip and tell everyone there not "cool" unless their horse is clipped like yours!!! LOL (you might start something!!)

I got myself into the same situation one year then someone gave me a pair of commercial sheep shears to use. They buzzed right through the hair lickety split. It went MUCH faster, the only problem was that the area that I had clipped with my personal clippers was a bit of a different length but at least her whole body was done. I really feel for you, body clipping isnt on my top 10 list of things to do.

Good luck, let us know how it turnes out!

I'm going to end up doing a hunter clip. It's the least amount of work for the time I have. How long do you think it would take to do a hunter clip??

Good luck, and I'm sure he'll look fine.. I don't know how long a hunter clip will take, but probably long enough. Make sure you work on it every night until you finish, don't leave a night out incase you run into trouble!

So, do you get to show Ollie yourself now?!

I really dont know, I've only done it once and it took quite a while as I taped off the areas to be clipped before I started to make sure both sides were even etc...

Either way I think it will take a while. At least you have a couple of days to get it done. Dont give up just yet!
