Yip, it's been a sleepy hurricane season so far, and I figured when that one got TS status so far out in the Atlantic that it would end up a doozy when it got to the warm waters of the Caribbean. While I feel for those in its wake, I do get rather excited about extreme weather; I considered studying to be a meteorologist.

I hope it has mercy on the Gulf states. Texas just got hit with the tropical depression and I am betting they don't need this!

I know, I've been watching the flooding in Texas, it's terrible! They don't need any more of that for sure...Cathy

I live in central texas. I have considered building an arc for the horses and other livestock on my property. I have never seen water like this in all my life. It brings out the best critters. The snakes have really been on the loose. They dont like the wet ground.

I am freaked. this might be a little long. My husband is active navy and we are gonna probably be under mando evac orders on sunday or monday depending on the course of dean. We live about 50 miles west of corpus christi. Over the past year I just outgrew my 2 horse trailer with 5 horses. I don't know what we are gonna do. I have been on the phone all day trying to find something, the hardest is trying to find somewhere to go, we are not from tx and don't know to many people around here.

I know I'm a little far from the coast, but I've got a 3 acre pasture that anyone can evacuate their horses to if you need it. I'm close to Austin

There you go, that's her post....maybe can help? Cathy
