It's judged on conformation and movement a Hunter should exhibit.

I'm new and never seen any of the in-hand classes so i'm BEYOND clueless on them..... Is it like a rail class but in hand? Or what?

Usually HIH is done in hand on a triangle. There is a smaller triangle and a large triangle. You lead the horse in and set up for the judge then walk the horse around the small triangle and trot around the large triangle.

In ApHC it is judged on 60% on movement, 30% on conformation and 10% on manners. Not sure about AQHA or APHA.

You have two triangles set up in cones. The first smaller triangle you walk. That shows the judges the horse's movement from all angles. Then once you get around the last corner of the small triangle you pick up the trot and trot around the large triangle.

Here is a video showing the class in action
