Okay...between the spin off this thread created...PMs....*Rep talk*
Get over it guys.

I never said I was Gods creation to horses....I KNOW I AM NOT.

I was simply giving an opinion...mine....take it or leave it.

This has taught me well....no more.

I will simply play in horse chat and off topic.

I am 15 minutes too late! I was uploading pictures. Ohh well...

I'm sorry people are being silly like that, it's really not fair that they have to get snarky. Those of us who know you, know that you are in reality far too humble for all you know.

Farmeress, don't let people like that deter you from helping others. I have found this thread to be a wonderful insight to how a judge's mind works; what they look for, what they find to be important, etc.

You may not be God's Creation to Horses, but you are a WONDERFUL asset to the equine community as a whole. I have learned a great deal from reading your threads. I ALWAYS take something useful and educational away from them and you have encouraged me to study/read/research more about the dynamics of riding and how to better apply myself and my knowledge.

Those that have the gall to be so rude need to take the big stick out of their rear end and keep their bad attitude to themselves. SHAME ON THEM

I can't believe anyone out there doesn't appreciate the great advice being given!!! Please ignore the petty people! Some of us need all the help we can get from knowledgeable people!

Well maybe we could keep this thread going with other people?

I'd like to put mine up if anyone cares to give me thoughts.

ETA: I'd also like to give other people thoughts if they want them too!

Ohhh forrr...

Bodie...Cassie...others...you had me convinced to come back....and look at the comment above

xxxmissythemarex...the posting has actually been addressed...and has absolutely nothing to do with this thread nor the reason it began.

You are not asking any question about why or what they are doing....just bashing a discipline

This thread is not for critqueing riding....or the movement of the horse...or bashing anyone.

It is for the competitive rider who wants to know the opinion of turnout AND HOW TO IMPROVE ON IT!!!!

I STARTED THE THREAD FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES IN THE SHOWING/COMPETITON FORUM FOR THAT REASON.

The competitive rider and what I was seeing going downhill in the ring in regards to turnout.

Soooooo....PLEASE respect that...and the purpose of this thread.....and keep trollish/nasty/use;ess negativity out of here so those who do want to improve...can

"K"thanks.

Oh...and if you are insulted by this....deal..throw out as many bad reps as you want......as someone pointed out to me....it has come to a point that some almost ruined it for others......and I do not think that is fair one bit to those who actually like learning from others here on the board.

So...I will continue....I apologize to those members who deserve it for my drama llama post....but seriously...in all the time as a member...this was the first time I used the mad emotion in my own post...happens to all of us at one time or another....guess it was my "drama llama" moment....lol

I sent the llama on a pack trip...so if members would like to continue.....so would I.

Thank you to all...and you know who you are and why I am thanking you

Ok so seriously what a thread. Now I'm not a judge or anything close to a judge, but if I brought my student to a schooling show, fun show, rated show, or from a rated barn...they would be turned out to perfection. At a schooling or fun show I may allow braiding to slide, but I would strongly encourage the practice. The more grooming practice one gets, the quicker and more efficient (sp?) they become.

As for show clothes. I do understand that not everyone has $1000 to cover themselves head to toe in brand new clothes. I am one of those individuals, but if you plan on doing one show a year that's a schooling or fun show and can't find a jacket or tall boots...just about every adult has a black blazer in their closet...pull it out. I would rather have someone in a blazer than without a jacket all together. Will it not look right? probably not, but you wouldn't stick out as the one that didn't try. As for tall boots...there are PLENTY of used ones out there under $100 even. They may be rubber field boots, but it's better than half chaps. Half chaps (unless the $100+ leather ones) just look sloppy. Just my opinion.

Another thing...I would do my darndest, as a coach, to find show clothes for my student. Take them to a tack swap, sale, etc to get them what they need...cheaply. Personally I want my students to stick out as GREAT looking riders and if one of mine showed up at a fun show even wearing a ill fitted polo...I would scream!

The problem with wearing polos, t-shirts, longsleeve whatevers is that it can (not always) look very sloppy and make you appear as if you're posture is terrible.

My friend who is an endurance rider went to a fun show and she borrowed another friends saddle, bridle, english jacket that was too big, gloves, and my tall boots. She wanted to make sure she had the best chance at doing well. Plus when you are in show clothes...you have a tendency to bring it a little bit more. Again all my opinions so please don't assume it's the end all be all, it is not.
