Hundreds of horses in need of immediate adoption

URGENT ADOPTION STATUSES

We just found out about this the other day. We have posted a press release on our site at the following link: http://health.cinchmagazine.com/pmupressrelease-09.htm.

Please, if you can help out in any way, you are making a difference. I hope some of you HGSers will consider this if you have any space at all to take in another horse.

Adoption fees include shipping up to 2000 miles away and coggins. Examples of some horses available: (mares, geldings, stallions and foals available)

They are beautiful horses, but unrealistic to ask $1700. or more for unhandled, unregistered horses!!!! If these horses do go to auction, they will only bring a couple hundred, if that. Very sad.

It is sad. Unfortunately, most of those fees are what the pmu breeders themselves want for each horse (even the Canadian direct adoption is pricey), but it does include the cost of shipping a great distance.

I believe many of the horses are able to be registered as well (many are well bred), but I am not entirely sure.

Beautiful, I would love to bring one in as a project but not for those prices...I would love one of those percheron or shire mares!

This is part of the problem I have with some, SOME, not all rescues. They charge more for so called adoption fees then the horse is actually worth and then belly ache that no one is taking these animals.

Doesnt matter if they are registered, they are un tried stock and for the same animal you can get one for 500 or less in most areas right now.

Lower the fees, make it reasonable if they want these horses to have homes.

It's illegal for a 501(c) rescue to ask more than $600 i beleive, for a rescue. I don't think that rule is just for here in NY.

"most of those fees are what the pmu breeders themselves want for each horse "

I paid $1500 for a pair of 6 month old half sister pmu fillys 6 years ago (I didn't pay obviolsy i was only 14 lol). They were Hanoverian x Paint's and they ended their growth spurt at under 15 hands. I was pretty dissapointed, but they both got awesome home's, so that's what count's.

It's a real shame how people try to wheel and deel these poor animal's.
