Just to keep out some confusion with this one this doesn't mean the powder used in dishwasher machines that stuff is bad for everyone, horse and human, had me going for a minute until I read it properly. lol

After I picked up a stray (and kept her) off the roadside, who was covered in ticks, I went home and shampooed MYSELF with Sargents Oatmeal Flea and Tick Dog shampoo. My hair never felt better.

I use suave conditioners & shampoos except for the gray, which gets quicsilver.

I've seen no ill effects at all, and it's less expensive then the "just for horses" stuff.

human shampoo is ok as long as you use a conditioner after it because it strips horses of their natural oils faster and can dry their skin!

There are people at my barn who use Suave shampoo and conditioner. I use mane and tail, a huge bottle at walmart is like 4.00$ here. I just put some in a bucket full of water and off we go. I have used Johnson and Johnson No More Tangle on her mane before but it did not work as well as vetrolin.
