Thanks TB Jockey I really appreciate your critique of this boy, I love his color too! I can not wait to see how he does on the track he is bred to run, lets hope that he has the heart to run as well. If not he will be my riding horse....one good looking riding horse I might add...but of course I am VERY Biased.

My colt is 14.2 hands and is only 12 months old and I did not really think he was big for his age I was also thinking that he would end up around 15.2 hands when grown.

Well you just never know, under optimal growth (the proper nutrition is required) many foals can get 90% of their adult height the first 12 to 14 months of age, with the remainder of growth occurring the next 3 to 4 years (5 years is the average for most breeds) with the exception of larger draft type breeds. Genetically one looks at the sire and dam, whichever the foal favors in conformation/color physical characteristics is the height it more then likely will have.
Example: the mare is 15'1 hand and a dark bay color heavy boned
The sire is a 16' hand sorrel with light bone
The foal is sorrel, light boned and very leggy. Then more then likely the foal will also get the sire height.
Hope this helps, remember.... The foal could also pull from somewhere in the sires or dams line and you get a throwback from lets say a sorrel light boned 15' hand foundation horse on the sires side too. But the formula works most of the time
