Arrow "Howellin Corona" updated pic's and video

Well Jasper "Howelling Corona" has just turned 7 months old. he is a running bred colt that we plan to race sometime in 2009 after he is oked by a vet to run that is. He now stands at 13`2 hands. I doubt he will mature much taller then 15`1 hands. please feel free to comment, all comments and critiques welcome, as you can see he is butt high...since he is in a growing spurt.

Here is a sort video:

I think this boy will be a contender. He has a low set neck and extra long legs and a lot of muscle already. He screams "I am so fast!" I believe he is a good one!!!

OMG, If you EVER want to send him my way, I will finance my house to own him!

I think he is amazing! Not only does he have a tremendous amount of eye appeal, he is also very well put together, especially for speed!
~Short back, long underline = long stride/speed
~Long, muscular gaskin that is tied in well from his haunch = BIG MOTOR!!
~Deep heartgirth.... love it! Lots of room for lung/heart....
~Short cannons, longer forearm, lots of reach!

I agree with the last post, love the low set neck!

Very nice horse! Beautiful eye, expression and face to boot!

Thanks Tuxie, another fine critique! I can tell your familiar with racing breds as well. Thanks for taking the time to critique Jasper (Howelling Corona). His dam is large hearted as well as his sire....so this little guy is large hearted. For those who do not know what that means.....Large hearted means just what it says...has a larger then normal heart...his dam is a double copy mare...meaning she has 2 copies of the large heart gene....so this colt has a larger then normal heart....meaning he will have an advantage over smaller hearted runners on the track when it comes to pumping of blood and oxygen during a race.

If you like his conformation check out his pedigree its a who's who of QH and TB runners.

Well, on the down side of a large hearted horse, they run fast, but die young. I hope this does not happen to Jasper. He is a good one for sure.

Shell, where is it documented that all large hearted horses die young? This colts grand-dam was 32 years old and she was a double copy large hearted mare. I would be interested in finding out about early death rates and large hearted horses. Secretariat who after autopsy was found to have the largest recorded heart found in a horse (weight was 21 to 22 pounds) with the average TB heart weighing 7 to 10 pounds died at the age or 22 years old or maybe 21 years old...unsure which, but he died from Laminitis. I am interested where you got your information from.....I am always open to learning something new.....
