How well do you listen?

when someone is talkin to u, how well do u actually listen to them? im talkin about w/ friends, not boring things. i feel like i cant listen to ppl. i try hard, but i cant retain the info they tell me. i only get little bits of info outta a whole thing. i will be talkin to someone, and they'll say something and i'll say "huh?" they'll repeat it, and i'll say "wait.. what??" then they say it reeeeeeeealllllll sllloooooowwww so that they kno i heard it that time. i feel so stupid.

so what ive started doin is, w/ really imoprtant things ppl tell me, i write them down in a notebook. sometimes other things distract me, but i think usually i distract myself w/ my own thoughts, and space out lol

i think i listen ok. if someone is telling me something boring and unimportant i switch off and dont really listen (mi bad) but normally i try to listen

I listen when I want to, and when I don't it's usually important stuff.

I can completely relate, I barely have an attention span at all.... drives my hubby crazy.

I cannot watch tv, and have someone in the room talking, I miss both the dialoge on the tv and the person talking....makes me mad! Cathy

Hey you’re not alone here (This is assuming there’s nothing medically wrong with you or anything. No offense meant but perhaps you should have yourself checked by an expert/professional on these matters just to be sure it's not caused by anything serious).
In any case nowadays people just don’t listen to each other enough (for whatever reasons/excuses). Why do you think there are often unnecessary arguments, quarrels, fights, wars, etc. Even horses don't listen sometimes (lol)

Aha, yea i write notes ALL the time. You should see my bedroom i have lists of things to remember but the problem is i can never find the bloomin lists once ive put them down.
I am always writing on my hands, but when your in a rush you only write short hand so when you go to look at it... you dont know what it means... 5' what!?

Sometimes my friends think im just a bit slow, but yes i get so caught up i cant retaian any more info! I am a bit of a worrier.
I always doubt myself too, yip.... who are those ppl in white coats!???

Oh im hearing ya! Im the same........

I go to work and ask my boss what my list of things are to get done, she'll rattle off a list and when she's done i realise id just stared vacantly at her for 10 minutes and didnt hear a word!

Sometimes i try TOO hard to listen and end up only hearing my own thoughts...

My tip; relax and question each sentence as it come as, that way, your repeating the question in you own words out loud and Whallah!!! comprehension....
