I always worry that someone will steal my horse. It makes my chest hurt inside. Really it is reprehensible to take away someones horse. I hope that people do get their horses back. We domesticate them and they trust humans, so they go willingly with anyone. They are not like dogs, they love and respect people and are hurt because of this.
Horse thieves should rot in a dark, cold, small, empty cell. They are happiness stealers.

I read once that netteposse said about 1/2 reported stolen horses were not actually stolen turns out they were either just loose or taken by family members etc. Not sure how many actually stolen horses get recovereed but theres about 150% more stolen cattle then horses each year.

I actually did see some "horse found" ads in the paper recently after some major flooding we had. It wrecked havoc on fencing and cattle, and horses were kind of roaming the country going wherever there was feed. Take heart though, there are SOME honest people who would actually care for somebody's horse as if it were theirs, AND try to find it's rightful owner. It happens.
