How my jumping/english lesson went

I started English/jumping lessons. My first was today. We didn't jump this lesson cause it was more of a 'getting to know me' lesson. I rode a horse named 'Pete' and he was a total sweetheart. He is 16.2 hands,bay w/ 2 socks on left side one sock was just a ring around coronet band the other went up to his hock,he is a Thoroughbred but never raced, and he is 16 years old.

In this lesson she just got me to keep my legs up under me, in a 'balance/chair seat' (I ride western too and keep my legs straight and heels way down.) Also she got me to whoa Pete by just straightening my spine,closing the reins,and thinking I want to walk. She also taught me how to 'follow' his movement with my hands.

She said I did great and that I am a very fast learner. She also said next lesson we probably will start cross rails toward the end of the lesson.

The lesson after the next I'll be riding a 'Zulu' a 11-13 year old TB,mare,17.2 hands!

I'm paying $50 dollars for them 2x a month ($100 a month) but it is totally worth it! She is such a good instructor.

BTW you guys I'm not a beginner with horses...just English

When I first started riding I rode bareback for one year,then western for 2 years,English has been a total of 4-one hour lessons with a different instructor who only teaches English pleasure,and this 1-one hour jumping lesson
