If she measures at 14.1 or 14.2, then I would think that you could get at least $2,000 - $2,500 for her as a pony hunter. You could probably get even more than that if you found the right person, but some people would be leery about the amount of time and money to retrain the pace. If she sticks at 14.3, then her price is going to be significantly lower -- I would say probably $1,000 - $1,200. In the hunter ring, it is all about big, bigger and biggest horse to catch the judge's eye. If she did stick at 14.3 I would probably think about trying to market her more as a dead broke trail horse (if that is in fact true -- oops, I didn't mean that to sound like I was questioning you. I just meant that I was not sure from what you had written about how comfy she feels on the trails?!?! SORRY!) ...

She is very, very cute in my opinion. Again, it is just finding the right buyer for her. And of course, this market makes everything tougher!

Paces+Does Not Canter= Not a pony hunter in any version of reality.

She looks and sounds like a doll but someone would have to be loopy to want her for hunters when she doesn't perform 2/3 required gaits for your average hack class.

vfx111 is right! (I guess the glass of wine that I am sipping has had more effect on me than I thought ). Replacing the pace with a canter is a huge challenge and there are plenty of trainers that are not going to want to fight that battle ... I guess what I was trying to say that if she is actually pony size, there are "potentially" more ways to market her and possibly a bigger upside on the sales price.

What a cutie!
However, with the breed, height, and training... I'd say $1,000 TOPS...

The gaits required for a hack class are walk trot and canter and she does walk and trot. She can now canter on the lounge line but not yet under saddle. With the way she is progressing we are sure she is going to get her canter by next show season.
