Oreo's my rescue. He was a PMU baby (don't consider those 'rescues' though), but the guy that bought 60 of them treated them horribly.

Actually, now he's being investigated by the SPCA because there were dead horse and cow carcuses found on his premises, animals in condemed barns, animals with insufficient food, water, shelter and permit violations. When I got Oreo, he had pneumonia REALLY bad; bad feet; and supposively castrated.. man did I get a surprise when he got home! LOL

Anyways, Cookie monsters my rescue

We had another mare, when we got her she weighed about 400lbs as a 6 year old 15.1hh Standardbred mare. She had ring worm so bad the vet had to inject medicine right into the areas instead of a normal treatment. It was horrible Got her back up to weight and everything, she ended up VERY healthy. However personalities clashed, and the mental effects of the abuse got to her - we ended up having to sell her as she was too dangerous. I really miss her now that I think about it

I rescued a hermaphrodite colt from the sale barn, he was definately headed for canners. although the castration process will be spendy I think he will be worth his weight in gold. Turns out he is a very loving horse. who could be trained as a trick horse. He's quite the character. If anyone has ever dealt with or know someone who has dealt with such a horse please drop me a line.

My friend has a rescue that is finnally back up to wieght. It was so sad when i first saw him because you could see every bone in his body even after he gained 100 pounds. They go his old racing records because hes a TB and they found out that he was once sold for 10,000. Hes happy and healthy now. When she builds her new barn she is going to have a couple stalls for rescues.

I don't really think it counts, but when Lil Red arrived at Halton, he was extremly skinny.

i was really happy i found out today that my friend finally got her rescued horse from the nackery. She saved/ fund raised the money and went and got him, he is a beautiful 16hh t/b gelding who is only 6. He has nothing wrong with him she said that she hoped on him and he was a gem which just goes to prove all horses i think ALSWAYS deserve a second chance

I chose the first option, though at this time I DONT have one, but I have rescued MANY, I loved them all, they each were special in their own ways!
