I've known my farrier since grade school (and believe me that was a LONG time ago!!), our families are close, so its part work and part visit--unless he has a call after me or other plans. We're both jabberjaws

Mine can trim all four horses in about an hour if I leave them alone. LOL If I'm home and we start talking it could take twice that long. I usually have them (husband and wife team) come in the house for a cool off or warm up depending on the weather and sweet tea or coffee to boot. We are also the "potty" stop and good for a sandwich if they hit me at the right time of the day LOL.

Mine makes sure I'm the last stop so we can have an adult beverage afterwards haha

I was really just trying to be funny with my earlier comment but my guy is extremely quick. A trim even on a fussy horse never takes him longer than 20 minutes. If they stand well he's in and out so quick we don't have time to get a good conversation going.

Every now and then when his usual helper is sick or on vacation I'll ride with him to hold horses. Since he's also my hubby's best friend I have a fair idea of what he makes a day, a week, and a year. It AIN'T chicken feed! True, he works dang hard for the money but a good farrier can make a really nice living if he chooses to. Six hours spent at the largest saddlebred barn he does nets him a check that's double what my hubby makes a week! Those "big" shoes are expensive! lol

About 10-15 minutes, depending on Zephyr's mood. He's the playful sort, nibbling (with his lips only mind you) on the farriers butt, grabbing her hat off her head and shaking it all around and throwing it down the aisle, things like that

That's something my guys are bad about- all three of them want to sniff/lip at the farrier's head, hair, neck and back. I'm sure it's due to the salt in sweat, but it's definitely NOT allowed! Heh, I'm not about to wind up with a "broken" farrier (meaning missing a chunk) because someone pushes the envelope a little too far.

This new girl's husband heard me growl at Allure when she got nosy and said, "Aaw, she's just sniffin'..." I wanted to hit him.

My three horses get trims, and it averages out to about 15 minutes a horse. (They wear down naturally really well, but Marrker does have a clubbed foot that requires extra time)

Ours is due in the morning. (As long as he shows up this time. ) He comes every four weeks, and we alternate horses--three one time, four the next, so everyone's done every eight weeks. It usually takes him around 30-40 minutes, trims only, all pasture puffs.

He probably late because of folks like me talking his ears off. Sorry... My guy just called last night and said he'd be here at lunchtime on Thursday I think he knows that I'm going to make him late so he might as we'll let me hook him up with lunch. LOL

*** edit ***I thought you said "shows up ON Time"*** I'm just waking up, must have coffee

I takes mine 45 minutes on my one horse. He trims all four feet and puts front shoes on him.
