Still no baby. She is 346 today. She seems to be getting more cranky each day. Baby is moving a lot today and she looks like she may have dropped some more. Milk still the same as yesterday. I have been watching her roll a lot today. This morning she ws rolling and when she got up her tail was off to the side and from the house I seen this creamy looking color at her vulva. Um yeah dont know what it was. So I ran out there and looked where she had walked and I couldnt see anything. Nothing on her tail either. Ok odd. I checked the inside of her vulva for pink tones. Read that when they get close that the inside turns a deep pink. So I gave it a look (as I have been) and I have noticed that it has been slowly getting more PINK to it. Well today it is about the color of the inside of your lip (well mine atleast) and it has been WAY lighter then that. So is there truth behind that changing color your getting CLOSE?? JW

The mare that just had a baby here bagged up about 2 weeks before baby. She was waxed and dropping milk about a week before she foaled.
    They are rotten little buggers!

Yes that deepening pink color can be a fairly reliable indicator. I wonder if what you saw was her losing her mucus plug.

Well that is what I was wondering but I looked for 20 min and could not find a trace of anything. Wait, I need to go back out (might be walked into the ground now) but I only looked where she rolled then stood then waled to her stall. I didnt even check where whe was at in her stall. Ok so lets say that is what it was (it was a big clump cause from 100ft away I seen it good). Now can they start any minute now or is that not a 4-72 hour window opener there (lol) and as far as the pink how about that? Does that open a new window

Well I went back out and didnt find anything. But what I seen was a yellowish cream color at first glance I thought that it was her water bag starting to come out. So that is why I rushed out. But yours is kinda redish and what I saw wasnt. You know it looked almost the same color as her pee but I have watched her pee before and you can follow that yellow stream all the way down. There was no stream it was just a glob type thing.

Most people never see or find the mucus plug. I watched every single day, multiple times a day and never found any trace of my mare's. Some have seen it only as a type of discharge (probably before or after the actual plug drops).

Ok we are soooo close and now Im ******** out lol. We have a very random snow storm (here is the STORM) and I dont have a fancy barn we have a lean to type building for her to get out of the weather. But all her bedding has gotten wet. I do have a smaller (perfect size) building that was used for our chickens and now has our bottle calves in it. I dont have any more dry bedding, can I throw hay down for her to have a soft place to lay and should I move her mostly? She has been doing the MARE walk all day just not really stopping. Vulva is almost a fushia color. And I went back out a minute ago and she came right up to me like momma its getting time. She turned to walk away and had a very small amount of poo that was the cow pattie that everyone talks about! YEA!!!! But I want to know if I should move her into that little barn building or if she will be ok where she is at? Temps are 32, snow and a slight breeze.
