Question how long

once a horse is sound agin how long would you wait before starting work?

i waied anotrher 2 days, then walked for 5-7 days, w/t for 7-10 days, added canter... so build it up gradually...

Its depends on how lame they were, the cause, the length of time they were lame for, and the horse itself.

k thanks what i was thinking was wait a week b/c he has been lame for 3 months then i would walk for week and then start building up. does that sound good or should i wait longer scenc he hasn't been worked scenc feb. but he has been lame scenc april.

um... Bess was lame for 5 months. But as long as u take it steady, it should be fine to start with in 2-5 days...

i really dont think that walking would hurt him any he was out running and bucking yesterday so i think that he should do just fine. but i might wait awhile b/c he was sound for a week and then he was running around b/c of the fire works and then he was lame for two days.
