How do you train your horse to jump.

hi i am cmckeown i am wondering how to get a horse to do jumps?
Do barrels or poles, any western thing is it hard or easy i don't get it

I have read this going on 7 times now, and I still don't understand if barrels or poles is easy or hard.

That darned western stuff is so confusing.

Ditto.

Jumping, Barrels, Poles, there are entire volumes of books geared towards teaching horses to do these things correctly, confidently, and safely.

How you teach Jumping is not how you teach Barrels is not how you teach Poles. There are similar aspects in that they all have a foundation of good flatwork. Beyond that, things diverge, quite dramatically in some regards.

It is hard if you have no idea what you are doing.

Can be easy if you know.....

But best knowledge is to do it under a coach/trainer
