It's quite simple. I buy the most minimal overos I can possibly find. Just enough white to get regular APHA papers and just enough not to have to wash everyday.

This little spot doesn't even require soap

Seriously though my friend's with loud paints love the blueing shampoo and Cowboy Magic Green spot remover.

Erin, do you think you'll ever want a loud paint?

My friends with loud paints also swear by the bluing shampoos.

Not really. I wouldn't mind a Splash overo but it'd have to be 70 color 30 white MAX.

I don't care for loud frame overos and I really prefer not to own a Tobiano or Tovero. I'd take a very minimal Tobiano, like 4 whites, face, and a strip over the whither or hip.

And you wonder why I'm even into Paints.

when they need a good cleaning, definitely bluing shampoo. but when i can't...i make sure not to use anything that attracts dust...also DONT try to brush off mud. wait until its dry and then dust it off

I like Quic Silver and Orvus and buying paints with minimal white I have owned 2 gray horses and really they have been very easy to keep clean I only bath a few times during the summer and they don't look dirty, unless it rains and they roll.

Quic Silver like previously mentioned and Cowboy Magic do well in my experience.

My pinto is always clean! On the off chance she gets dirty, usually a good grooming is all it takes
My black horse is another story...always grubby looking, blech.

my friend keeps her mostly white appy clean by constantly rugging her.
all day she has a UV sheet(cuz she gets sunburnt)
and at night (winter) she has a huge warm rug, makes me wanna curl up inside it...
