Horse's Water

I have asked the Forum around 50 some questions since I joined without giving anything back. This is not much, but I thought I'd give a little something back. I went to Home Depot and bought a swimming pool skimmer net. I cut the long pole that comes with it off to about 2 1/2 feet. I use it with the 100 gal. water tanks as well as the large muck buckets that I use for the horses water. Every day I skim the horses water tubs before I top them off. It really saves from having to change the water often. The net will remove mosquito larva and most all the debris in the tubs. I sometimes make about a dozen dips into each tub making sure I agitate the water to remove as much debris as possible. When the tubs start to get cloudy, I will then dump them, rince, and fill with fresh water.

That is a great idea! I use a toilet bowl brush (one bought just for this purpose lol) to scrub out my water buckets and tubs--saves from getting as wet when cleaning them out, esp in winter.

I do the same thing... I only have to clean the tank once a week instead of every other day...
