Question

So what's the story? Is the guy going to release the animals so they have a chance at food and life? I can understand taking in unwanted animals, but you have to provide for them if you take them in. Some of those horses are just skin and bones! If he really cares about them, he needs to give them up to the people who really want to help!

The news story stated that he hadn't been charged yet...has this changed?

Hi Everyone,

A rescue close to me has taken in some of these horses. I don't have the whole story but here is what I know. There were around 146 that were seized or supposed to be seized. One rescue in Gallatin, TN took in about 20-30. They held a silent auction for other horses of theirs that were ready to be adopted out to make room and raise funds. I don't think anyone has a complete number yet or as far as I know. I know one horse did die on their way there, last I heard some of the mares had foaled out already. If you want to go to their site (not sure if the link to that rescue was provided) http://www.vea-tnhorserescue.org/index.html They may be able to give more info? I'll see what I can find out. They're right down the road. As far as the counties go, from my experience they're useless and know a whole lot of nothing, especially about horses.

I took a look at the rescue above, it seems wrong to me...The horses were just removed ( by selected rescues &not even 1/4 of the horses ) and they are for sale the lowest being 300.00 for untrained 600.00 for broke to ride. These horse are still under weight and they are already going through test to get there price tag. This is TN, there are healthy loved trained horses on craigslist for under 300.00. Yet a rescue is putting high prices on horses they just rescued???? and there are still horse at that farm, what are they waiting for?????? Tn has the worst animal rights... Yet so many groups willing to help and no one will give them a chance.
just makes me sick

Just wanting to say that I have a friend in TN that helped rescue some horses and she was treated like garbage and lied to by those she was caring for the horses for. So maybe someone can give us some insight on how to help horses like these and why this is being done like this? Is there no organization? Why is someone from Ohio involved in TN?
