![]() | Horses Needing Homes in Upstate NY Member Reitpferde lives in Central Jersey and has offered to transport within the Tri-State Area for anyone interested in saving one of the horses! I would scoop up one or two of them myself but I am in southern PA...so transportation is an issue. Anyways, I am cross posting this from another forum: And I have no other info, I have not met these horses personally, just cross posting Pebbles: About 14.2-14.3 hands, Rides w/t/c Very sweet mare, GREAT trail horse goes over and through anything. Intermediet rider. Has energy but a very nice enjoyable ride. I have ridden her english and western.($300-$350) ![]() Bob: Older TB gelding, (About 19-20yrs) very sweet...English/western. Rides w/t/c (Comfortable Trot!). About 16.1 hands. He isn't fond of train tracks or bridges but will follow another hore, just won't be the first to cross somthing "scary". No buck/bolt or rear...($300-$350) ![]() AnnaBell- Very sweet QH mare, in her late teens. About 15-15.1 hands. Rides english and western. Kid safe. Has been shown this past summer in english and western classes. Good on trails. Not spooky... ($300-$350) I took these pics of her at a horse show on July 14th 2008 ![]() ![]() Toby- Off Track Standardbred. Very mellow and easy to ride. Walks and trots, has yet to canter under saddle...so far he will only trot REALLY fast (Enough to keep up with a canter) He will canter on the lounge line, just a matter of having somone to work with him undersaddle. Good trail horse. Very nice boy. ($300) ![]() Candy- Cute pony mare, good ground manners, good at w/t under saddle, needs an advanced rider for the canter as she gets a little strong. I rode her around barrels and she seemed like she could make a nice gaming pony. She is a halflinger/QH cross (Looks Just like a quarter Pony) ![]() Faith- Aged QH gelding, about 20 yrs. He has heaves and does best on turnout rather than being in a barn all the time. Does good when kept away from dust/humidity. He was an Ex-lesson horse. Good trail horse. ONLY ($50) My mom was able to ride him and she is scared of horses. ![]() ![]() Jack Very mellow gelding, Will have to be a pasture pet most likley due to leg/hip injury but he is very lovable. He has Excellent ground manners, leads, ties stands, good with feet etc. ($50) ![]() ![]() Please call **** @ 697-2750 for more info! Listed horses will go to Auction on the 17th of November! These horses only have until the 17th. Please cross-post. The ones below are difficult to place and are at most risk for slaughter: * Faith, an aged q/h, is asthmatic sometimes, and cribs, but is a amazing second pony for a kid, has placed every time at shows * Sweet Lips, 25+ yrs...a cruelty case, came in starved and abused, is a cryptorcid stallion, easy and GENTLE to handle, was a walking skeleton but now up to weight - Note: only $50 ![]() ![]() * Cliff, a recent cruelty case, aged q/h, SO SWEET, is still very thin, but eating great, does ride and trails - Note: only $50 * Jack, a PMU yearling was severly injured in transport, is sound and easy to handle, leads and ties, but due to hip injury it is unlikely he can be ridden - Note: only $50 Last edited by EquineDevotion; 11-15-2008 at 05:38 PM. |

So sad that horss who have spent their lives as dependable lesson horses now have a questionable future. Did any one else notice that Faith's bit is on backwards!!!! OMG what a saint! I would be interested to know where in upstate NY these horses are. That description covers a very large area. There is no area code on the phone number and there are at least 4 area codes in upstate NY. |

This is the barn where my horses came from, I thought a few of these horses were supposed to stay there forever - do you know if there's something going on at the place? Also I can personally vouch for Pebbles, Annabelle, Faith, Bob. Bob has some issues with going back to the barn after a trail ride at a controlled walk but other than that he's a good boy. edit: forgot to add that he probably has the most comfortable trot I have ever sat. Also that sweet lips is a poor old man and the biggest lover and I really hope someone can give him a home. Annd this is in Oneida, NY which isn't too far from Syracuse so the area code is 315. |

Paint if you can make the drive I swear he's worth it. They would put people on both him and Annabelle who would flop around and be just horrible but those horses would just pack them around like everything was dandy. Faith has a big personality too, he was pretty much every lesson kid's favorite. The owner of the barn threatened to do this a few times and actually did send all the horses minus the ones listed but I never thought he would really get rid of the ones that have been around forever. This really, really bothers me.
