Perhaps the best phrase is "correct legs". Literally straight legs will be rough (like post-legged horses), but correct conformation will give you all the ingredients for a good ride.

Lil. Red.. post legged horses' back legs are straight up and down legs.. really rough.. whereas, sickle hocked horses, the legs are up under them more. Too much, actually. Cow hocked horses the hocks are narrow and the base (hoof) is wide. Then, bench kneed, the horses' knees are over more at top, than bottom half of the leg. Then, calf kneed horses, the knees go in too much.
