| Senior Member+ | Horsebrat & Bella and anyone else...heres how I do Oliver's tail! ok here we go, I'm sorry I am not very good at explaining myeself..lol and some of the pictures got erased...so bare with me! 1) Wash your horses tail with just shapoo (I don't care what kind), Do NOT condition it...it's a waist of conditioner since your going to hot oil it (shown in pic one). 2) Put 2 caps of hot oil liquid (shown in 2nd pic) into 1 gallon (I just guestimate) of REALLY hot water (should be boiled in a kettle but extremely hot water from a tap will do). And Then soak your horses tail with it (shown in pics 3) 3) WAIT FOR IT TO DRY 4) Brush your horses tail out well. Then braid it. BUT do not include shorter hairs in the braid (use picture 7 as referance of how much to leave out). 5) After it is braided, with your fingers split the hair so that there is a small circle just below that tail bone. (shown in picture 4) 6) loop the tail through the hole until you have a nice little ball (oval ball..lol) (shown in picture 5) 7) Once you have done all that it is time to rap the tail. the only thing you have to make SURE of is the you put the being of the vet rap THROUGH the hole you made for the tail (this insures it will not slip off) (shown in picture 6) 8) And then just keep raping (I use a whole roll on longer tails) around until the "ball" you created is competely covered (this shold be quite snug). Use electrictions or some other tape and rap it aroud the end of the vet rap so it stays on, and so you can find it again when you need to take it off. IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE PICTURE 7 WHEN YOU ARE DONE! lol sorry if I have confused any body I'm not too good at explaining things

| Senior Member+ | LOL no Thank you! You've actually inspired me! All my horses have pretty nice tails that are thick and long. I have never really given them much attention though and they just kinda drag along in the dirt the majority of the time. You've inspired me to let their tails "be all that they can be". |

| Senior Member+ | Awesome explanation Megs, thanks so much! Where can you purchase the hot oil treatement stuff? Does it come at most tack stores? Also, for summer, do you think it would work to put a tail bag over the little ball when finished, rather than the twine? -Bella
