I dont think any horse wuld be calm while just cause there owners are standing there watching there horse be killed, And besides, hunting is cruel itself if they use live bait, They dont do that here anymore, but they might in New Zealand..Honestly if you acutaly loved your horse, you wouldent watch it be shot like that..I would probably have a heart attack befor even leading my horse into the shoot, cause I actually CARE about my animals..And I know Im being offensive but I dont care. Down rate me all you want. I dont care if you think Im worhtless or childish...other people dont seem to get downrated because of their opinions after all, you just love your horse brains pop out eh? Oh please they CHARGE you to dispose of your horse at the hunt kennels so no-one istrying to make money. I_luv_moth is absolutely right, you know NOTHING about the situation. You consistantly say that the captive bolt gun is not humane when it is MORE humane than euthanasia by barbituate overdose. If you dont know the facts dont jump down the throat of those that do.

SHOOTING your OWN horse that has worked COUNTLESS HOURS, tyring to please and work hard for YOU doesent deserve this treament! PERIOD!
In an ideal world we would all bury our horses in the back yard - but some people CANT it is against the LAW. So they have to find an alternative means of disposing of the body and heartless or not as this may seem it is just a carcass. The horse has stopped living, it doesnt care what happens to its body. Afterall why should it? It isnt going to know. I will shoot all my horses, as this is the more humane way to kill them. Having witnessed both euthansia by injection and by shooting I can honestly say that euthanasia by injection is not something I would EVER put a horse of mine through. Shooting is a much more dignified end.

Maybe so, but I could never (neversaynever) shoot my own horse. I couldn't even shoot a possum or dog UNLESS my life depended on it. Not saying I wouldn't ask someone else to do it.

Last year my OLD pony colicked and everyone thought he was going to die, even me. I walked him and Banamined him and oiled him, etc. and expected to wake up with him dead. His eyes were nearly glazed over he was in pain. MUCH to my surprise he was awake the next morning and has been happy ever since. If I had the guts to shoot him, I would have, but I didn't. Moral of story, I would have taken a life I shouldn't have.

most people here are talking about when there is nothing more that can be done so waiting it out would just prolong the suffering

Ahem...

First off,you don't MAKE money. You PAY money. Yes they charge you.

Actually, you never catch the rabbit unless you want to be riding for about 10 hours as we go riding around bushy areas so it would be impossible to go bush crashing with hudnreds of horses

You care? How come you wanted to sell your horse because it couldn't show ?

Can't say i've ever seen my horses brains pop out. I have seen my horse collapse in the paddock and be euthanised though. That was hard seeing as i was only 8.

And you always complain about being treated unfairly, but that's because if you read over your post where you accuse everyone of not loving their horses because they have others ways of putting them to sleep.

See,you don'tknow the first thing about hunting, slaughter and i don't even think you know much about horses?

And please don't talk about rep on a thread. It's against the rules. And we wouldn't want you getting banned now would we

Poor moth..she worked so hard for you..you dont deserve to have horses....Oh darn yes I did say that excuse me if people cant handle the truth..Cause we are actually CARING horse owners.
Oh yes,i want to make money off my horse who is being sent to the hounds. Now,how do i do that seeing as i have to pay them? Hmmmm?

Oh okay! How about i send her to you then. Oh wait a second...

She might not be able to show? Would you want to cast her off just like you tried with your own horse? You have such a caring, compassionate attitude don't you!

Pfffftt....Please. You are Selfish. About your horse and everyones feelings.
