The HSUS uncovers the cruelty of American horses exported to Mexico for slaughter. Watch this shocking new footage and urge your Senators to support the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act.

I can't see the video as I'm at work, but I can imagine. They do not have rules and regulations to protect animals in Mexico like they do in the States and Canada
A big reason why I support Americans slaughtering horses. Less travel, and much more humane deaths. I wish more could come up here but the horses in the southern States are just too far.

I am still sad that the plants that ARE regulated aren't allowed to operate and our horses must suffer out of our hands. Sad really...
What did banning slaughter accomplish? More suffering?
Good job on those who got it done. WHAT A MESS.
♥ Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away. We have roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.♥

Well, the pro slaughter people have been saying for a long time that if slaughter was banned in the US this is what would happen to the horses...Mexico or Canada. Why are you so suprised and upset about it now? This was inevitable...can we get our own slaughter houses back up and running now?
Keep Moving Forward!

I can't see the video, and not sure that I even want to.
It ISN'T out of our hands!!! Just because they can't be slaughtered here in the states, doesn't mean they should endure even more abuse and trauma just so they can be slaughtered in another country!!
I just don't get it!!! "Some" people would rather see these horses go there than take responsibility and take care of them themselves!!! Abuse is abuse, and those that would let their horses go there are actually helping to promote abuse!
Not every horse that gets slaughtered is the product of financial ruin somewhere. More enlikely, it is only a few! The majority of the horses being tortured and abused, and slaughtered are the product of someone "trading" their horse for something better, or the ones that were PURPOSELY bred for, but they don't have the right conformation, or the right color, or the right gender, or the right height, ect. Someone didn't have a clue how to train it, therefore making a mess out of it.
There are SO MANY EXCUSES that people use to justify sending horses to be tortured, abused, and slaughtered.........and would prefer that they endure all of this, just so that "so and so" doesn't have to be financiallty responsible. It all just makes me sick!
I for one, will NOT tolerate abuse of any animal, and I'm boiling mad right now, that people would prefer to let this happen than step up to the plate and take responsibility for what they purposely, bought or produced!!!
It all just makes me want to SCREAM!!!!!!!
I am 100% ANTI slaughter of our horses!!! And, PROUD of it. I fight to preserve life, not destroy it needlessly.
Not every living being on this earth exists to pay homage to or serve as indentured servants to humans!

I just finished that video. I have to say that was one of the better put together slaughter videos! It was all very recent and seemed very factual to me. The canadian slaughter wasn't terrible...just a quick shot with the rifle....but cowgurly is right...its just too far.
Now, my lord,,,the mexican slaughter made even me cover my mouth and gasp. Its disgusting. The gray horse went down quickly once he finally got him, but it shouldn't take that long. The others weren't so quick either.
So yeah, this is whats happening to our horses now...... its really sad.

and I don't think there's any reason to point fingers here. Stopping slaughter is a process. Yes, it was much more humane in the US, but maybe seeing whats happening across the boarders will help put a complete end in to action. I am pro slaughter for the record, but I'm also not opposed to people with passion working hard to end it. I just wish to see that before the paper was signed to say no more slaughter in the US....that other steps needed to be taken first to assure it didn't get WORSE for the horses, as it has.
