I hate when people aren't ready for their classes and hold up the gate. It makes for such a long day. Especially when I showed POA and we had 100+ classes in a day all running in one arena.

I'm sure I will think of more, I'll come back and add them

How about when people don't dress appropriately? I can't stand seeing people showing hunter classes in colored breeches, polo shirts, etc. (Actually I've never seen that around here, but in other areas I have.) I also can't stand when people show their horses that look like they were pulled out of a muddy paddock five mintues ago, and when uncoordinated riders crash into others in the show ring. (I had to show in a youth w/t class last year on a horse who wasn't ready to canter at shows and naviagting around the kids who didn't know where they were going was difficult!)

    - People who have a balking horse heading right to you, as they sit talking to their friends.

    - People who run up on your butt.

    - Idiots who box you in along the fence in the warmup.

I'll probably come up with more.

Oh man I have so many

    - Wild colored tack/apparel(hot pink, etc.) I get you can be crazy in xc but get real ppl!
    - Warmup rings all together, no exception. They're ridiculous and I HATE them. People have no respect for each other.
    - When shows run late or people are late for classes. I watched a 1.2m jump round once and it was a 10 min wait between riders, like ***!

More to come, I am just getting angry listing them, lol.

I agree with the warm up arena...Its like trainers/parents don't teach their students/children arena etiquette any more. That was the FIRST thing we learned.

The barn I used to board at was HORRIBLE. Barn full of kids...lessons going on every evening...the rules for the arena were even posted on the WALL.

OMG the thing that got me the worse though (and this rule was posted as well) there were four gates in the arena. One on each wall, three of them each led to a different aisle in the barn, the fourth led to the parking lot. People constantly would stop and talk to their friends/parents/whoever at the gate. Therefore causing people who were trying to ride on the wall to go around, or be forced to ask them to move. GRR!

Animals other than horses in the arena too. Dogs and cats just do no belong. Unattended children as well. One of the gates in the arena was a sliding wood door. The bottom half was solid, the upper half was like a "window". So until you actually saw the door open or some one poke their head out you didnt know if some one was entering the arena. One day I was cantering along the wall, and an unattended child the you most certainly could not see over the bottom half of the door, slid it opened and walked right smack in front of me. I came *this* close to running her over.

Children that are riding horses that are just too much for them too...So dangerous. For everyone involved.

Like others have said, people who ride up butts.. Not just in warm-up, but especially during the class..
I was on a pony who could be a kicker (not with me, she knew better- but with her little owner) and a girl ran right up our butts... THREE TIMES. The last time I cursed her out- screamed along the lines "Learn how to fing ride adultfemaledog!" Yeah... Thankfully the judge didn't hear..

Also, it's not something that's intentionally done, but my ponies are fast movers and so I'm constantly having to pull off the rail, then I can't find a spot back on the rail where I won't have to pull out again, and so I'm on the inside track sticking out like a sore thumb. ):

I hate lesson barns that go to shows with 7 kids and two horses.. There is one pony in particular who goes in three or four divisions. Granted, one is lead line but still- this pony is old old old.

Parents screaming at their kids telling them how to ride. Especially when the kid is overmounted and not ready to be doing what is asked for them. I have seen so many little girls who have been trying their best, but just can't do it because they aren't ready, sobbing because of their parents.

I see this with trainers as well. My daughter will cry but only because she didn't win or because I get upset with her for doing something she knows she shouldn't. She is very competitive and hates to lose.

I don't like the warm up arena especially at bigger shows, it is again usually the trainers or people longing that drive me crazy. At open shows it is usually somone holding up the class because they weren't paying attention.

People looking at their horses ears and not paying attention where they are going. I understand your horse may have a pretty headstall on but please look up before cutting me and my horse off last second.

KICKERS who cut me off. This happened at the last show. I was on the inside and a girl on a grey was passing me on the outside- I gave her plenty of room but she desided she wanted to turn right in front of me. I asked Chief to half halt and suddenly the greys hoofies are inches away from Chief's head. Spotty boy was not pleased. If your horse kicks out at someone and you don't have a ribbon in its tail. at least appologize? If I hadn't slowed Chief down when I did he would have had two hoof prints on his head which would have made his mommy very unhappy.

WP bred horses in a HUS class. I find it hard to imagine those guys surrounded by terriers on a fox hunt!

There are gonna be so many people in your life that are gonna say "you can't." What you gotta do is turn around, look 'em in the eyes, and say, "Watch me."

At my mares very first show, there was this little kid ( I didn't know if it was a boy or girl, I couldnt tell, so I just called it a "shim" ) and it just kept cutting me off in the warmup arena, every time I went to take the jump, the little brat cut in front of me! And he/she kept running up my horses butt, even though she had a red ribbon in her tail
Oh, and at this same show, my instructors daughter had her horse tied next to mine on the trailer ( and she tied her gelding WAY to close ). My mare was just standing there eating her hay, and the gelding kept annoying my mare and nipping at her. So finally BC was like "ive had it!" and pinned her ears and swung her hind around. So the girl runs up,screaming and freaks my horse out, then comes up and tells me to move my horse because she is a dangerous animal and that her gelding is way to valuable to be kicked at. The nerve of some people

I also hate it when people think they're better than you/your horse and they look you up and down like "pshh, what are YOU doing here?!"

And I hate it when people show in dirty/broken tack

I love shows, but I hate people
