I'm honestly a little scared..I've been working with him, but I still can't even get his to stand still with the clippers off and touching the inside of his ear. I hate this already. I'm going to un-do all of our de-sensitization work.
I also had to clip my mare for a show when she was still terrified of clippers. I used a human razor and it worked great! You can also try one of those "Win by a nose" silent trimmers, but a human razor works just as well.

Are you talking about the kinds I use to shave my legs? I've heard this several times now. Doesn't it shave down to the skin?

**asked by someone who has never shown a horse in my whole life**

Yep, it works great. You just have to be careful not to press too hard, or it will shave to the skin. If you just brush it lightly over the hair it's fine.

Thanks! That is some good info there. Just proves you're never too old to learn.
