I haven't sent off for mine yet but i'll do it this weekend. I'm getting mine with the VHS, your horse doesn't have to be over 16 but you automatically become a member once your horse turns 16.

It's a scurity thing, yes just in UK, before only Racehorses, Trotters etc needed passports but from June all horses, ponies, donkeys need passports by law. It is a record to stop them getting into the food chain for one reason, if they are on drugs, or been euthanized by lethal injection. Also from the horses point of view, they can be traced. Personally I think it is a good idea, a benefit for the animal, not just humans. Here's some more info from BHS http://www.bhs.org.uk/Welfare/Passpo...fo%20sheet.htm You can get it done through your breed society if the horse is registered, like mine with WPCS, and it's cheaper if the horse is registered with a society, only cost me £10 |

My shetland is over 2 months ..don't worry .. they are busy and if you are going with the Welsh assoc I am sure they have their hands full with lots of them to do ! Our American QH were really quick to do as the assoc is fairly small over here and not a popular breed.
