Well. I do have a bit of an update. The OSPCA told me that they were out to the farm to investigate, but that is all they could tell me because it would interfere with their investigation. I told them that if the horse does need to find a new home, then to contact me, and I could find it one. Anyway. They are so restircted in what they can say, it sucks. I just wish I knew what was going on. Love this little mare. Oh and she used to be the perfect riding horse, just is too lame to ride now.

I can't believe you would go into a stall with a horse that does not belong to you, let alone apply any meds. Your lucky it's not my horse. You have no business handling or medicating or stretching someone elses horse....

Other than that your story does not add up. If this horse was so bad off why did you waite to call now, why not while you were still at the barn.

I'm not sure is I understand, this mare did all that damage to your horse. That does not sound like such a lame horse to me.

You say the horse is in pain, but all you caring people want to ride her, because that will help. That is just ignorant.

I'd guess you left this barn on bad terms. You are getting back at the barn owner. You better hope no-one at the barn reads this thread. I would say there are grounds for harassment.
Good Luck, I think your gonna need it.

RE: Horse hit by Truck

I would put in a call to your local animal control. If this horse is suffering and needs help, that is the best thing you can do at this point, especially with injuries as old as you say.

Nobody truly knows if she is, but the OSPCA can find out once and for all. So I DID talk to the BM/BO about the horse several times when I was there and the other boarders that new the horse. The other boarders said they wanted to ride it, cause they think that she is sore cause she needs to work to get her tendons and everything stretched out. I tried stretching out her legs and putting Absobine Juniour on them and it just made her worse. It's not just like a pulled muscle, its permenant and forever. And like I said, if everything turns out okay, and the horse is fine, then that's great, but if it's not, at least I know I did the right thing by being worried about it's condition and contacting someone. I will not feel stupid for emailing the OSPCA, even if everything turns out fine and the horse is fine. At least I know I did the right thing!!!
First I feel for you, for you seeing this horse, trying and not really knowing.
The only way of knowing is for a veternarian to look at her, this will take the ower to do this. The Barn Manger has to report any neglect, like she is in pain, she is suffering and the veternarian was not sought out...this is what the barnmanager must do, call the owner and take it from there, perhaps the BM and Owner know something that you don't know and that the BM can't tell anyone. The ASPCA I don't know why they are not active in this, take some pictures of her legs see if the area is swollen her feet so on, though this is not legal, taking pictures of a horse that is not yours, so why did I mention it? cause I will do what it takes, like you to save an animal from pain, your very attached to her and you don't like the BM for what happend with your horse you have many emotions runing in you and I do feel for you, I hope this all gets taken care of....
