Personally, I think that he looks in proportion, so I think that he's average.

Why are you worring about this?

He looks in proportion, I don't see anything that strikes me as out of place. He sure is gorgeous tho. Love the color.

If he is it's only very slight. You should be able to draw an equal sided square around the body and legs- my horse is incredibly long- 16hh and wears a 6'9" rug! but boy did it make him a scopey jumper!!

Hmm, he *does* look a little long to me, and I wouldn't say he had a short back, but he's not out of proportion . My mare has a long back, too, and a shorter neck than your guy, so she does end up looking a little funny . He looks good, and his back shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Looks about right to me. Remember, the loin is there too, which yours has a good loin blending into the back. He looks great. Why you askin anyways? Worried from the swayback posts?

remember, it isn't JUST that the hosre has a long back. It is also the HEALTH of the back. When the health of hte back goes, so does the straightness of it.

If he was skinner he would look long backed, but thats the same with my mare when she use to be skinny her back looked long, now that she is round it isnt as noticable to most people. And as long as you keep him collected in his work, I see no proublem with him, but then again I dont feel your weight would effect him and his slightly long back. I can show you pics of my mare when she was skinny and now and you can see the diffrence in how her back looks
