I am wondering the same thing. Does anyone know of some joint supplements that you have noticed do make a difference. There are so many to choose from it is hard to decide which one to go with. Like chondrotic or glucosamine or msm or all of them? Or a liquid or a powder? I have my horse on a few right now, but i don't know if they are the best one and are making that big of a difference. I would appreciate someone knowledgeable in the subject to lend a hand..

My horse has arthritis, and we put crushed garlic and chopped up celery into his feed which really helps! You can buy garlic thats already crushed into grains, and you put a couple of tablespoons into the feed. Its great and makes the feed yummier too. |

Corta-flex and Cosequin are 2 great joint supplements. Glucosamine, chondroiten and vitamin c for absorption. I have never heard of garlic for arthritis, I know it helps to repel flys and helps to boost immune system though.

woot! Osteocare Cartilage Nutrition Treats for Horses Apple & Molasses Flavored Treat or Top Dressing *Glucosamine *Chondroitin Sulfate *Hyaluronic Acid **and other vitamins and minerals** Comes in 3# & 20# Tubs. (20 # tubs can be hard to find) Feeding instructions: For the first 30 days one cup, then on 1/2 cup. 14 treats = 1cup , 7 treats = 1/2 cup approx 4 cups in a pound My wifes' and my QHs love it. Great way to reward and supplement your horse. A 20# tub just cost me $45.00 for almost 80 days of treats/suppliments. Less than 60 cents a day for 2 horses. ( they both only get a 1/2 cup now ) applaud |

Thanks Guys, I have also heard of Corta-Flex spyro!!! Has anyone tried something on a horse and it has really worked...I want to get my mare in peak condition before the shows this fall, I will not be jumping due to her shoulder, but she will be ridden in dressage. And you can tell a slight bob when she trots. Thanks Everyone, Nikki |

Get a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and sports massage therapist. All are great. I give my older horses (12 and up) a shot of Map-5 every other week.

My dad's horse Buddy who just passed not to long ago. Did excelent just being able to walk around at liberty. When ever he was stalled up he had problems. but just moving around all the time in the pasture was what worked best for him. We tried a few suppliments unsuccessfully.

100% Yucca Powder and Corta-Flx works for my horses ... Even compared to some of the more expensive supplements, which I've tried over the years... |

A friend had an older gelding. He was a former stadium jumper, so he developed really bad arthritis in his legs and shoulders as he got older. His owners had this massage brush that they used. I dont know quite how it worked, but it helped him alot. They also did exercises when they would pick up a leg and stretch it out. It helped him tons.
