I would go for one that is show quality and seems to have a good mind. Even if the horse doesnt have world champion potential if the horse has a solid mind and is well trained ppl will still pay for a top notch kids horse that will do well in the ring.

A friend and I tried this but we ended up just breaking even because we kept him for over a year and he was injured for about a month wich set back his training and added vet bills. We bought him unbroke for 250 and sold him for 1800. He was an unregistered breeding stock paint. I think I would try it again if I knew I could buy in the winter and sell the next spring/summer. Keeping a horse for a year and a half is too long to make a profit. Here's some pictures of when we first got him and when we sold him. ![]()
