Question Horse ears...

Hello all-
I dont really know where to post this idea, but I had a few questions about horse ears. I dont really think about them much at all, even though I see them everyday on my horses.
I am doing a project for Biology on horses ears and how they somwhat evolved.
Does anyone know anything about the inside of the ear, or anything about the ear in general.
I do know that they can show signs of awareness etc, and that they turn to hear sounds. (duh!)
Ideas would be appreciated.Just wondering what info I could get here as well as my many horse books!

Thanks,

Well, the ear can turn 180 degrees so they can hear to the front, sides, and back......

It's furry......sensitive.....ummmm..furry....

As far as history of the ear....MAN did you choose a hard subject. History of the hoof is more documented and disputed throughout the equine field.

Thank you guys for the help!
You are right I probably should have done the hoof, especially how they evolved from toes...hmmm.
Maybe I will change to that.

THANKS FOR THE HELP.
