Horrified

Ok, so after I worked Romeo I took him inside and rinsed him and brought him out to let him nibble on grass for 20 minutes or so. Well there was some lesson kids up there, and one kid's brother had firecrackers, lady fingers to be exact, he lit it and threw it UNDER his sister's horse and they went off. The horse FREAKED out and took off towards the fence at a full gallop, he tried to jump it caught his foot on the fence came down and snapped his hind leg. The girl was sent flying and the horse came down with a CRACK...

All I know is I was terrified, my heart leapt up in my throat and I took off towards the horse and the girl, while my husband went off to find the BO. Needless to say when we left the vet was on the way, and the girl was in tears - I was mortified, the last thing I heard was the mother chewing out her son and the BO wanting to rip his head off.

I was ****** beyond belief and it wasn't my kid, or horse.
I know the kid tried to say he was just "joking around," but he ended
the life of a horse and more than likely scarred a little girl for life!

I hope they tan that boy's hide and when they are done, hold him down so his sister can smack him a few times! I hope the horse and rider are okay. You said he snapped his leg. Did he break it?

This happened to us only it was a father of two that threw the firecrackers towards us. The horse trampled my husband, threw my son who was riding him, and ran off down the beach. Luckily after what seemed like I had been running on foot for a couple of miles a guy out cutting firewood managed to catch the horse. The people who owned it were standing right next to us. My hubby and her hubby gave that man a piece of their mind!! This was the second time in 1/2 hour this man did it. First time I was mounted, and barely stayed that way.

I'm so sad for that girl and the horse. I wonder if mom is now going to have a hefty bill on her hands from a lawsuit??

Yep, the leg was dangling and he had his back leg mangled in the fencing when he came down on it. When they got it out he couldn't even stand up.

OMG! Wanna bet some new rules get put up? What a horrid thing to witness for you, not to mention that little girl, and it doesn't sound good for the horse.
