That's absolutely horrible! If kids are like that at that age, then they are gunna end up so much worst when they're adults...the poor horse and girl, for her to not only witness the horse die, but actually experience the fall...I really hope she doesn't give up riding and experiencing the joy of horses just because of her **** of a brother!

When I was about 9 or 10...a boy across the road from me (around 13/14 years), attached a firework to a cats tail on bonfire night, and lit it...don't think he had any sort of punishment (his whole family was a bit rough and I don't like to call ppl it, but they were scum)...I think he went to prison later on in his 20's for assault...but got out in less than a year...thankfully the family don't live here anymore...but scary to think what he's still getting up to

That kid is going to end up raping or killing someone. Kids these days aren't disciplined enough they don't know to respect living things. I would've gotten rid of that little ****.

The horse was put down, they are burying him on the property. He was only 7-years-old with a lot of good times ahead. He was a great hunter hack horse, and took a lot of little kids to the top. He will forever be remembered as a gentle horse, with a big heart and lovable nature. May be always be remembered.

Rest in Peace, Scamp. he looked like one of those horses that just wanted love and to give love, like my old Arab.

maybe you can start a petition against the kid and get something serious done to him?

It really was very sad, but unless the BO can press charges I don't think much will be done.

He ALMOST killed his sister, she's cut up pretty bad but other than that she is ok but very torn up about Skamp. She is blaming herself.

wow this kid is LUCKY he lives in Missouri- anywhere near Connecticut and (pardon me for this and I don't care that he's a minor) I would have kicked the living sh*t out of that kid. Horrible. Awful. Terrible. Words can't even express it-
he should be arrested for risk of injury, breach of peace, animal abuse and cruelty and be thrown into juvie if not be tried as adult since there was such consequences of his actions. I don't care if you dont like horses but I also have a few words to say for his parents who let him near horses with firecrackers and something to light them with???? What are they insane!?!?
My heart breaks for the little girl and Skamp, tragic. I hope this gets some media attention.
