Hoof Stix?

Hi. I am wondering about, RioVista's new product, Hoof stix? Is it good? I am wanting something for my mare's hooves(were going to a show). Does it make a good show dressing? Does sand attach to it easily? Does it help her hooves or just dry them out? And one more question, is it clear? (My mare has black hooves). Please answer asap! I need to know!

It's no where near new... and I think it's black. I tossed mine because the applicator gets messy and you can't clean it.

People will reply...relax

If you are looking for something for show...go with a classic black polish and then take it off after the show.

It depends on what type of show you are doing. at a schooling show you probably don't need to polish your horse's hooves and at 4H you can probably just apply any type of hoof black

Here's how we get our horses feet ready for the breed shows....

The Day Before:
1. use an electric sander to sand and smooth the hooves
2. apply conditioner to the hooves

Right Before We Show:
1. apply high gloss shoe polish to the hooves
2. paint on hoof black
3. let the hoof black dry

After We Show:
1. Rub sandpaper or steel wool on the hooves to remove the hoof black

Then if we have another class later we just apply the hoof black to the part we steel wooled or sanded off...I know it's not very good for their feet but it makes them shine like glass in the show ring
