I use hooflex and just put on enough to wet them. They dry after about 10 minutes. You can use bacon grease too. Sounds weird but it works and it isn't very expensive. Obviously you have to eat the bacon first. LOL.

I would buy " Mane and Tail Hoof Maker" thats what I have. I don't think I would use home made stuff. People who put that stuff onlie could just make it up and it could be harmful instead of helpful. You just don't know what kind of source you are getting it from.

I use shur hoof but I have a question.

Ive been putting it ON his hooves and the directions say to work it into his frog and coronet band. But its just for his cracked hooves, his frogs are fine.
Am I doing this wrong?

I use hoof flex & I really like it. It has pine tar, venice turpentine & lanolin in it. It's not too thick & not too thin.
