That is the most common place. I would nearly guarantee that if you look at the foot from the outside, and look at the line that the coronet band makes, I bet it curves upward at some point when going from the front of the foot to the back. Even thought the reddish line is at bottom of hoof in front? What should I use on hoof? I have bell boots on front for tonight till I get to feed store tomorrow. She's in a sand paddock and I'm afraid to have her walk in there 24/7 it could iratate it. I'm going to put her on hoof supplement too. Thank you all for help and input. Really appreciate it. Anybody have this happen let me know.

Ok, by "outside" I thought you meant the lateral (side away from the middle of the horse) side of the hoof. You mean the outer hoof wall as "outside".

Same thing though - it is from excess pressure in that area of the foot. Being in the toe area means the toes are too long.
