| Senior Member+ | Honeymoon pictures!!
We decided to head to North Georgia mountains to some places we'd never been. We had no reservations and no real direction. We actually ended up in a different place than planned, LOL! So here goes: A covered bridge on the way up. Some kids had graffitied the whole inside of it : ![]() Some scenery. I'd like to have the Brahman looking cow in my pasture. ![]() The first stop was Helen. The town resembles the Alps. This is a Huddle House! If only all Huddle Houses looked this neat. ![]() We got our picture taken antique style in a bathtub, LMAO!! No, I am NOT sharing it......F's fan club would only grow. We spent the night here and walked the streets. It was Oktoberfest, so there were several drunkards stumbling along. We got a king suite with a fireplace, but the fireplace didn't work, so they gave us a cheaper room rate. Saving money...saving money.... The next morning we wake up and it is COLD!! So off to WalMart we go to buy gloves and hoodies. We end up hiking 2.5 miles (one way) to Raven Cliffs. That was some kind of hike.....I'm still tired! ![]() We finally make it to the cliffs: ![]() We could continue on up to the top, but I only went part of the way up. F waited at the bottom ![]() ![]() The drive up to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in GA. ![]() This is on top of Brasstown Bald. We took a bus to the top. The view spanned on forever it seemed. I think I could see Parkie still crying!! ![]() And as if we hadn't had enough hiking, we decided to walk down .6 miles. This is back at the car. See the building on top of the mountain, that is where we hiked down from. ![]() Off we go across the state toward Dillard. We had heard it was expensive to stay there, but the prices were reasonable and we were offered a king suite with an inoperable jacuzzi for a lowered rate. (see a trend?) We took it! This is the view from our back deck. ![]() They had a petting zoo there. I have a picture of Doublebarr on here somewhere, hold on. . . . . ![]() Wait a minute!! that's not it!! Here it is: . . . . . ![]() The morning of our trail ride. Picture is off the deck. You couldn't even see the mountains! ![]() Our two mounts, Jake and Jeb. They are full brothers, Percheron X Morgan and used to be carriage horses but now only are trail horses. F on Jeb. Notice the stirrup holder thingys to keep city slickers from sticking their feet through the stirrups. Mine were too restricting and wouldn't allow enough of my foot in. ![]() Me on Jake. He just HAD to get the peepee picture. *gasps* ![]() This 100+ acres was won in a "land lottery" in the 30s I believe. What luck!!! ![]() when we got back I went to see the goats one..more..time. Trying to butter F up into getting goats. This little one was head butting like crazy. He had to be spechul.... ![]() ![]() See, told you I was trying to butter F up?? How can you resist this????!!! ![]() One more stop, next post! |

Last stop is Tallulah Falls. Us at the top: ![]() View down from the top. Note, this picture is NOT the bottom: ![]() ![]() So after walking down 300+ steps we cross a suspension bridge *eek!! I'm scared of heights*!! This bridge was swaying and bouncing like crazy!! ![]() Sigh, we still have 200+ more steps to see the bottom ![]() ![]() At the bottom: ![]() ![]() And since we walked down.......................we have to walk up. 500+ steps up... ![]() Needless to say, we were so tired after all of the hiking, that we had to come home early to relax ![]() We had a great time. Hope you did to viewing the pics |

LOL, no. She said that she didn't want F to get in a tizzy but if I wanted them, I could get them. Me thinks they are still babies since she said they'd probably get eaten.
