I agree, and if he does end up "fitting the bill" I have a couple silver girls he may want to meet...

I've always loved the morgan breed. I think Angel (the lighter/mud colored mare) would cross really well with a morgan.

Wow, what a looker, and not just because of his color! I would have said dark sooty palomino or flaxen liver at first glance. Great proof that looks can be deceiving

Well for rarity... there are only two Black Silver Dapple Stud's... one is this guy, and the other is about the same age. There are only 4 Bay Silver Dapple Studs.. or stud prospects that I can think of off the top of my head in the breed as well. So.. very rare. However as always I hope they all equal up to the bar that is set for them. I love Morgans... but then I might be a little biased. My sooty pal gelding got me started on the research of colors in the Morgan breed and appeared at many times like the silvers listed. Testing helped throw that out. However later when Pegasus Polka Dot came up for sale I wanted to buy her however somebody else got to her first. . That's good though because I love her sire Pegasus Persuader, and she is being well loved by another, and used!!

I inquired on one of the bay silver stud's about crossing on my sport pony mare.. but she said she'll only breed to morgans. Found out later some negative things being said so it'll be a cold day. I'd consider the cross with some of these other boys, but then lately I've had my eye on a welsh stallion for the mare and I think would be the better cross. I love true silver but it isn't everything.

After look at the Silver Dapple Morgan's project you can see the entire list of confirmed Silver Dapple's in the breed. There were 6 stallions last I knew and I was right. However this year's foal crop has given us a few more. . I haven't been into the Morgan ring's in a long time so I'm a little out of who has what but here is the link for all those of you interested.

You are correct. It only shows on black pigmentation. However red horses can carry the gene and you can find that out by testing these days.
