I'm pretty sure that the coeffiecient(2) is distributed to the WHOLE compound.
Im in chem right now too, i have a test tomorrow..*wish me luck* this stuff confuses me.

How did you get that subscript!?!? I guess I should have used advanced mode. Well...either way she's right. However I must say that is a very strange molecule. Aluminum Chloride Hydroxide...not even sure if that's what you would call it. It may be chloro hydroxide, but still, not an organic molecule i've ever seen. Is this a transition state?

That's what I was thinking also...I kept on wanting to refer to it as something hydroxide...but didn't know where to start! I used a smaller font in the advanced mode.

LOL...sorry, for confusing everyone. I actually just took random elements because I couldn't remember the ones from my problem... I have no clue if it is even a real compund...hmmm... sorry!
