Homework

Does your instructor ever send you home with reading assignments?

My trainer's like "I can spend your next lesson explaining this, or you can take it home, read it, then ask me questions about it and actually apply it in your next lesson"

I appeciate the approach, but wondered if I was the only one with homework.

No, my instructor doesn't do that. I wait for the 'intermissions' before I ask something and have my instructor exlpain it (since I'm there all day I ask thousands of questions lol).. Then, in the next lesson my Instructor rides up beside me and explains it to me while I'm riding(if it has to do with riding)... then he shows me, and then he gets me to do it.. and makes the corrections if I'm wrong, and he explains..

Mine doesn't but that sounds like a great idea...I'd probably do it instead of my real hw though (not like now )

I do not take lessons but I think that that is a very good idea.

I have lessons on a school horse but i still think that would be a good idea, especially because my lessons are only half an hour every two weeks...so it would mean I could progress a bit faster.

As an instuctor, I haven,t tried that one before. I have been known though to loan a book or two. Of my two favorites one is great for people that have never ridden before and the other is for more advanced riders. I can see the benefit though if a pupil has read something so knows where you are heading in the lesson.

My instructor doesn't do that, but I kinda do some research of my own.
