sorry just would like to clarify what exactly the purpose of homecoming is since we're not very familiar with the term .. lol

is it celebration of a win ? for sport ?
or end of year celebration ect.. ?

homecoming is kinda like when the beginning of school is.
we went maybe 2 or 3 weeks into school then we had a homecoming football game and a homecoming dance. I think everyone school in the US does this (but i'm not sure on that)

its a huge tradition over here in the states, in high school, its a week long celebration of school spirit,theres a dance and football game and stuff, its alot of fun

AWWWW MAN! i am so jealous! we never have there here!

that's so mad... you guys are very lucky

over here school spirit isn't celebrated much like that all..
prob that's why everyone is so languid towards school

if we did that for a week they would probably see it as slacking off lol
and also a lot of people would probably skip school days and do other things since they see it as only another school day that isn't compulsory

so during that week.. you don't have classes at all ? or very little ?

How many 'dances' do you have a year? (i put dances in inverted comma's cos im not sure whether thats what you do or if its like different)

Do you only have homecoming and prom or like others too?

Im just curious cos over here we have the one school dance at the end of the year, which i guess is like your prom. and thats it.

nope, we have classes, but at my school they were shortened and ended early for a pep rally, which was just alot of screaming and cheering and the football team showed up, and the dance team, and the cheerleaders and stuff.

For our school we have class Monday-Friday
But Thursday we had classes from 830-1030 and the rest of the day to do homecoming stuff. We paint pillars, paint hallways, paint the street, and more! It is SO much fun and everyone loves it. And we had pep rallys.

We have Homecoming and Prom but we have more. We usually have a Halloween Dance, Sadie Hawkins Dance, and yet still more dances lol..

bwahaha, my school goes a little overboard for school spirit. Our football team is HORRIBLE (and i mean, not winning more then 1 game a season horrible) so we make up for it with school spirit. I think our spirit days this year were...camo day, superhero day, K-8 day, and class colors day. Then our pep rally...does anyone else's school have each grade & new teachers do a lip sync?
