The reining stable I used to work at gave the horse's old milk jugs, like the plastic two-gallon ones. The horses just loved 'em.

Teddy has a one-gallon plastic milk jug without the lid on it hanging in his stall that he loves.

you usually tie them, either from the roof or the side. if you want to make them more interesting you can put stones or something in it and seal the top or put a coloured water.

If you do not tie them to something they will throw them at you! LOL I am not kidding we had to take the stall ball out of my stallions stall as he would throw it across the hall at the gelding across from him. To stop that we tied it to a bungee cord. Then he got even more talented and could hit you walking down the hall with it.

You can also add some small stones to the milk jugs to make things more interesting.

Thats what we do with milk jugs is tie them up and put stones in them.

Skip has a cowbell tied up in his stall too, he loves to ring his cowbell its hilarious.
