Home-made simple harness for pulling things?
The object we use to even the sand in the paddock is heavy. It's a big iron plate with studs, but u need a pick-up truck to pull it. We dont do that very often because it's quite a job to take off the wooden fence to be able to enter the paddock with the truck. We have no choice to even the sand cauz ppl there do barrel racing and it makes dangerous holes.
anyway, to make a long story short :
I have no harness but i want my horse to pull it. (it's not heavy for a horse, just too heavy for a human) It would be less complicated then with the truck and it would make a very good exercise for my horse. Problem is: I have no money to spend on a harness at this moment. I planned to make a simple breast collar with a rope and pad it with foam. I'll lead my horse by the halter, i'll not stand behind him with long reins.
Do you have an idea on how i could patent something with rope, foam and chains?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
P.S.: Don't want something that could hurt my horse. I understand that it wouldnt be as comfy as a real leather collar for him, but it's only for a short time.
haha look wat i just found:
the dude used a western neoprene girth! I have this! but i dont wanna break it, since the iron studded thing is heavier then a tire...
I forgot to mention that my horse is a very large 16hh quarter horse mixed with a half qh x clydesdale so it's not too heavy for him. Btw, he knows how to drive already so this is not a problem.
Rope and a heavy ranch saddle ?
