Hog Fuel?

My nieghbor who is also a horse owner, recommended me using 'hog fuel' for around my shed in my pasture this winter..and I was wondering what you all thought about hog fuel, or if you have used it at all????
I live in Oregon, and my 1 acre pasture gets REALLY muddy!!!! Like half the pasture practicly turns to mud, and it's a "NIGHTMARE"!
She said it creates sort of a clay, and really works! Her pasture looks really nice with it!

My friend that lives in Oregon also uses Hog Fuel and loves it.

Could someone tell me what hog fuel actually is (pics would be great!)?? I've heard of it on a few boards, but never around home, so I'm wondering exactly what it is, and how it is used and how it works

Basically, but it looks to be a fiberous mulch. Not just chippings.

I'll hafta talk to my dad about this. Mars's side of the paddock gets HORRIBLE...I hate it the mud so much.
